Synonymy Kadolsky (2021) stated that "Starobogatov (1985: 29) proposed the genus Viviparoides, citing “Helicites viviparoides Schlotheim, 1820” as type species. According to Article 67.7, the authorship and date of the nomen of the type species has to be corrected to Bronn, 1848. I refrain at this stage from a split of the genus Viviparus as conventionally understood (e.g. Wenz 1928), as this should be done in a comprehensive taxonomic study." [details]
