Taxonomic remark Pallary (1916) introduced this replacement for the presumed secondary homonym Melanopsis obesa (Philippi, 1887), non Gassies, 1856. Despite a valid nomenclatural act, the name is hardly useful because Philippi’s species is certainly no Melanopsidae. [details]
