Taxonomic remark Anatomically this species is similar to S. palustris, and it is not accepted as valid by the Western European authors [Glöer, 2002a; Welter-Schultes, 2012]. However, S. callomphala has a distinct shell habitus and a rather restricted range much narrower than that of S. palustris. Possibly, it is a distinct species (though a molecular inquiry is needed) [details]
