Taxonomic remark Type locality: Goro. Description based on a single specimen collected by Lambert. Gassies (1871: 76, pl. IV, fig. 3) explicitly stated that the type specimen was communicated to him by Souverbie to be illustrated. MNHN (ex type collection of
the Journal de Conchyliologie [not listed by Fischer-Piette 1950]) has 3 specimens of goroensis donated by Souverbie; 2 originate
from the Ile des Pins and thus cannot be syntypes (and are actually identifiable as fibratus guestieri); the third specimen is from
Goro but is clearly different from Gassies’ fig. 3 and the original label reads “goroensis varietas ex auctore”. For these reasons the
MNHN specimen is not type material (Fig. 50). [details]
