Taxonomic remark Reid (2014) recognized that Cerithidea multicostata has precedence over C. anticipata. Cerithidea multicostata was based on the form with numerous axial ribs from southern New Guinea. Until this is clarified by new data, Reid found it premature to change the familiar name C. anticipata. [details]
