Present Inaccurate Introduced: alien Containing type locality

Synonymy Reeve (1849, pl. 11, sp. 62) assimilated Kiener's species to Turritella cingulifera Sowerby, 1825, mentioning Port Essington as locality. This synonymy was later copied by Tryon and Kobelt. Seen as Kiener's indication of Gulf of Gascogne as being the type locality, Reeve's synonymy is here doubted. Further examination of the type material (in Coll. Delessert fide KIener) is to establish the correct identity of this species. [details]
