Homonymy Bourguignat (1857) considered this species a junior homonym of "Carychium minutissimum Férussac, in Hartmann, in Sturm, Deutschl. fauna, fasc. vi, fol. 1, 1823; - et Férussac, in Beck, Index Moll., p. 103, 1837" and introduced Carychium minimum as a replacement name. However, both works referred to Férussac's (unpublished) identification but did not accept it as valid, both consider it a synonym of Carychium minimum. Nowhere else is the name listed as valid, and it is not available. Thus, there is no homonymy and Carychium eumicrum is a junior objective synonym of Carychium minutissimum A. Braun, 1851. [details]
