Synonymy Kroll et al. (2012) showed in a molecular study that the genus Heleobia is restricted to South America and distinct from European representatives of Semisalsinae. They attributed the European taxa to Semisalsa, but that genus is currently considered a junior synonym of Eupaludestrina (Kadolsky 2008). [details]
