Validity Though this species is included in some recent surveys of the European freshwater gastropods (e.g. Glöer, 2019), its validity is very doubtful. As Welter-Schultes states, "the [original] diagnosis provides no constraints for a difference to Hippeutis complanatus which occurs in the same region" (http://www.animalbase.uni-goettingen.de/zooweb/servlet/AnimalBase/home/species?id=3373). The type specimens are lost. [details]
