Spelling Beu (2010, p. 186): "The etymology of the specific epithet is clear, because the authors (Ferreira & da Cunha, 1957: 41) discussed the earlier work on Pirabas fossils by Carlotta Maury, and clearly named this species after her, although they spelled her name 'Carlota' in their discussion, as well as spelling the species name 'carlotae.' The species name therefore is an error and should be emended to carlottae." [details]
