Editor's comment Madagasikara was described to replace the previously used name Melanatria. In this work, Pirena was stated to having been established by Lamarck in 1822, with the type species Pirena terebralis Lamarck, 1822 by SD of Children (1823). This made Pirena a synonym of Faunus. However, Pirena was already described by Lamarck, 1816 with the type species P. madagascariensis (M), hence it has precedence over Madagasikara. [details]
