Homonymy this species was originally described as Oleacina pulchella Pfeiffer, 1856. In a subsequent publication (PZS 1856, published in 1857), Pfeiffer placed this species in Achatina, which rendered it a secondary homonym. Pilsbry (1899) introcuded the replacement name Salasiella pfeifferi for this. [details]
