Homonymy "In 1829, p. 59, J. V. Thompson described a new genus, Podopsis, for what he thought was a MysId, but It is now evident that he was dealing with a macrurous
decapod. The name Podopsis was adopted by later writers, and M. slabberi was referred to it. Van Beneden (1861, p. 17) published a very full and complete description of the genus under this name, but In 1877, p. 35, G. O. Sars, discovering that the name Podopsis was preoccupied, renamed the genus Macropsis and gave a new and very futI description of it." [details]
