Homonymy Henderson (1920) considered Acella haldemani C. A. White, 1878 and Limnaea haldemani Deshayes in Binney, 1867 to be congeneric and introduced Tortacella wyomingensis as replacement name for White's species. Although no homonymy exists at present, the secondary homonym was replaced before 1961 and is thus permanently invalid (ICZN Art. 59.3; it was also used by Henderson 1935). Yen (1952, 1954), who was not aware of the replacement name, classified the species in the genus Zaptychius. [details]
