Type locality SW Germany, fissure Tomerdingen 1 in Tomerdingen quarry; ca. 11 km NW Ulm. (ca. 48° 28ʹ 41ʺ N, 9° 54ʹ 19ʺ E). Type horizon: Lacustrine limestone, dislodged in fissure Tomerdingen 1, here interpreted as derived from the Ulm Beds, mammal zone MN 1, Aquitanian (early Miocene). [details]
