Type locality Hislop listed several localities collectively for the three varieties he assigned to this species: "All these forms may be procured, within the province of Nagpur, wherever the deposit is fossiliferous, especially at Tákli, Telankhedi, Butárá [= Bhutera], and Phizdura [= Pijdūra]. Excellent specimens have been obtained also from Chichundra [= Chhindwāra] [...]; [...] from the hills on the north of Ellichpur [= Achalpur]." These localities are in eastern Maharashtra and southern Madhya Pradesh provinces of India. [details]
