Classification Systematic revision required: classification in the North American extant genus Mytilopsis is highly unlikely. [details]New combination Combination established herein, for consistency with the genus-level taxonomy of the group. Although never explicitly established, the combination is implied in the literature. Attributed by Papaianopol (1997) to the "Mytiliformes" sensu Andrusov (1897) and the sub-genus Mytilopsis Starobogatov, 1970. However, the concept of that taxon is erroneous and species should be actually referred to the genus Andrusoviconcha - see note there for details. [details]
