Taxonomic remark Chernyshev (1937) introduced the taxon (incorrectly) as "nov. nom.", listing a part of Cardinia acuminata Martin, 1860 in the synonymy. He also had material from Fergana valley, but he did not indicate a type. Therefore, both Martin's locality (Côte-d'Or, France; lower Jurassic) and Fergana Valley (Uzbekistan) are type localities. However, it remains uncertain whether specimens from both regions are indeed conspecific. [details]
