Status The species was conditionally introduced ("Melanopsis sp? (conditionaliter - M. expansa n. sp."). According to ICZN Art. 11.5.1, the name is not to be excluded on that account since it was published before 1961. This makes the name a junior homony of Melanopsis magnifica var. expansa Pallary, 1920. Bogachev's species has not been mentioned or discussed in the literature since the first description. Status and classification uncertain. [details]
