Status Introduced for Pecten malvinae sensu Fuchs, non Du Bois de Montpéreux, 1831. Later, Blanckenhorn (1901) listed it in the synonymy of his new species Pecten submalvinae Blanckenhorn, 1901, which he apparently also introduced to replace Fuchs' misidentification. In the discussion he stated that subnumidicus was introduced for an Algerian Miocene species and differs from the Egyptian submalvinae, which however does not match the statement in Blanckenhorn (1900). Probably both subnumidicus and submalvinae are objective synonyms, but a more thorough assessment is needed to clarify the status of the two names. [details]
