Status Established as an unnecessary nom. nov. pro "Cylindrites Morris & Lycett, 1851", stated to be preoccupied by Cylindrites Gesner, 1758, Cylindrites Gmelin, 1793, and Cylindrites Sowerby, 1824. However, Gesner (1758) and Gmelin (1793) are works that have both been placed on the Official Index, and under Art. 11.5.2 the name Cylindrites is not available from J. de C. Sowerby (1824), thus leaving Cylindrites Lycett, 1848, a potentially valid name and Rugalindrites an unnecessary replacement name. [details]
