Taxonomic remark The species was referred to Turrancilla by Kira in several editions of Shells of the Western Pacific in colour (1962-1968) and to Ancilla (Ancillus) by Higo et al. (1999) which is presently considered as Turrancilla. Was considered as a senior synonym of T. apicalis Kira, 1959 (Higo et al., 1999), but Ninomyia (1988) concluded that the species are different.
