Because of the abundance of the form in the St. Marys Formation, it is probable that it came from the St. Marys River, St. Marys County, Md. He collected specimens of the taxon at that locality (Conrad, 1830, p. 211) that he originally identified as 'Nassa trivittata Say.' [...] Neotype (USNM 405335), from above Windmill Point, St. Marys River, St. Marys County, Md. (locality 12)." [details]
