Etymology Cooper stated that the name Montdorella was named after Mont d’Or, "a peak in the Jura mountains that straddle the border between France and Switzerland, where the type species was collected". Cooper obviously confused the Mont d'Or massif to the NW of Lyon (type locality of Trigonia depereti) and Le Mont d'Or in the French département Doubs, extending into adjacent Switzerland. [details]
