Taxonomy The name Granulina clandestina (or, earlier, Gibberulina clandestina) has been applied to both fossil and Recent specimens. However, the name is based on a fossil, and Gofas (1992) restricted the name to a Pliocene fossil. For the Recent species for which the name had earlier been used, Granulina marginata (Bivona, 1832) or G. boucheti Gofas, 1992 are proposed. [details]
