During a benthic sampling program conducted in Monterey Bay, California, in 1971 - 1972, 112 specimens of an unidentified eolid nudibranch were collected by workers from the Moss Landing Marine Laboratories. Later study indicated the nudibranchs to be an undescribed species most closely allied to the genus Cerberilla Bergh, 1873.
