Taxonomy Huber (2010: 560) considered this as a synonym of the Mediterranean Acar clathrata (Defrance, 1816 = A. pulchella (Reeve, 1844). However there is a large gap between the Azores and the range of A. clathrata which is not found in the Westernmost Medediterranean (Alboran Sea), so that more compelling evidence is needed before they are treated as synonyms. Taxonomy Huber (2010: 560) considered this as a synonym of the Mediterranean Acar clathrata (Defrance, 1816 = A. pulchella (Reeve, 1844).
