Type species Dall (1890) introduced two new species in Macoma (Cymatoica) (occidentalis, orientalis) but did not designate a type species. Later, Dall (1900) listed Tellina undulata Hanley, 1844 as the type, which was not an originally included species. However, he listed his occidentalis in synonymy of undulata, which is a subsequent type species fixation (of occidentalis) according to ICZN Art. 69.2.2. [details]
