Status Long thought to be a synonym of Crepidula porcellana Lamarck , 1801, but molecular data indicate that to be a north-west African species and adspersa is more likely to be conspecific with the South African Crepidula complanata Krauss, 1848. [details]

Synonymy May eventually prove to be a senior synonym of Crepidula complanata Krauss, 1848 from South Africa, but molecular data from Angolan material is needed to confirm that it is conspecific with the South African species. [details]
