Status The taxon was introduced intentionally with the same species name as Melanopsis stricturata Brusina, 1892, to indicate the close similarity. The only differing character is the columellar fold, which is however a highly variable character. Accordingly, the taxon is both a secondary homonym and a junior synonym of the very same species (Neubauer et al. 2014). [details]
