Although the work has “1806” (actually M. DCCC. VI) printed on the title page, it should be regarded as having been published in 1805 as it is reported on Journal Typographique et Bibliographique for 24 Brumaire an 14 [15 November 1805], and again on 16 Frimaire an 14 [7 December 1805]. The work was reprinted, with corrections, in 1806 and the BHL copy is actually this latter edition. See Gregory S.M.S. (2010) The two ‘editions’ of Duméril’s Zoologie analytique, and the potential confusion caused by Froriep’s translation Analytische Zoologie. Zoological Bibliography 1(1): 6-8
