Distribution Acrotoma tunievi is known only from two localities in the vicinity of Sochi. The species is probably declining at both localities. Clauss collected numerous specimens in 1984 and 1988 in the gorge of the Mzymta River. Suvorov (2002) found only three specimens at each locality. In 2012 no specimen could
be found at the type locality despite intense searching and only very few empty shells were found in the gorge
of the Mzymta River [details]
