Additional information The original reference was published anonymously during the "Cultural Revolution", but was known in the Chinese scientific community to be attributable to Liu Lu; it may be argued that this contravenes Art. 14 of the Code. The genus was subsequently described as "Lilingella Chen & Liu (MS)" by Zhang, Wang & Zhou (1977, Palaeontological atlas of Central South China, Part 2: 41 [in Chinese]), but no type species was designated in that work. Liu & Chen (1981, Geological Society of America, Special Paper 187: 116) refered to the paper by Zhang et al. (1977) but not to Liu (1968), and designated Lilingella simplex as type species. [details]
