StatusHelix adipis (Fig. 2, A-I) was spelled "adapis" by White (1886, p. 12), forming the basis of Henderson's (1935) spelling, Helix? adapis. According to Hartman (1981), "adapis" is an inadventent error used only once in a table. The original description of this species specifies the spelling as "adipis," as does the plate explanation, the index to the paper, and its original museum label. Wenz (1923) referred this species with questionmark to the genus Triodopsis. According to Roth (1986), the allocation is unknown, but it might be a helminthoglyptid. [details]
