Taxonomy La Perna (2008) showed that Yoldia striolata Brugnone, 1876, described as a Plio-Pleistocene fossil of Southern Italy, is an earlier name for Yoldiella seguenzae Bonfitto & Sabelli (1995). An alternative interpretation was proposed by Warén (1989) as a species of Neilonella for which the name Neilonella latior (Jeffreys, 1876) should be used if La Perna's interpretation of Yoldiella striolata is followed. [details]
