Fossil range Originally described from Jurassic deposits. Sha et al. (2006) also referred to this species a number of records from different formations and time periods in China, ranging (at least) from the middle Jurassic to the early Cretaceous. Given the extremely long time span involved, it is unlikely that all records belong to the same species. [details]
