Easily recognisable small, squat shell, up to 5 cm, with a rounded, short spire. Colour white with a pattern of blackish squares. Aperture with coloured bands. Habitat: lower eulittoral, often under boulders. Distribution: Indo-Pacific. (Richmond, 1997).
