Up to 4 cm, shell surface smooth or with slight transverse ridges; small pustules and four weak teeth on the columella. Colour variegated black and white, occasionally with three conspicuous bands. White interior, pinkish-grey granular operculum. Habitat: on rocks in the littoral fringe. Distribution: Indo-Pacific (Richmond, 1997); tropical Indo-Pacific, also in Australia in Kalk (1958). [details]
