Nomenclature Reeve (1849; pl. 1, sp. 4) discusses Linnaeus' duplicatus and acutangulus and considers they are of the same species. He therefore introduces the present name, referring to Turritella acutangula as listed by Deshayes, 1843 (not of Linnaeus, 1758).
Should the two Linnaean taxa prove to be of the same species, then Reeve's name remains accepted, else it should be considered synonymous to Linnaeus' duplicatus. [details]
