Nomenclature Samoana was established as a nom. nov. pro Evadne Hartman, 1881, non Lovén, 1836 [Cnidaria], and its type species should thus be Partula bulimoides Lesson, 1831. However, Pilsbry considered that when Hartman established the genus Evadne, he had misidentified the type species, and that in fact Partula canalis was meant. [details]
