Status The species was conditionally introduced ("Unio sp. nova? (schiraicus" [sic, should read schiracicus as in the plate caption and table, since the species is clearly named after the region Shiraki]). According to ICZN Art. 11.5.1, the name is not to be excluded on that account since it was published before 1961. The species has not been mentioned or discussed in the literature since the first description. Status and classification uncertain. [details]
