Homonymy The name Pyrula lineata was first established by Lamarck (1816) for the species currently called Volema myristica (Lamarck, 1816). In 1822 [Histoire naturelle des animaux sans vertèbres, 7: 145, 147], Lamarck placed his Pyrula lineata of 1816 in synonymy of Pyrula angulata [= Volema myristica] (p. 145), and established another Pyrula lineata as a new species (p. 147).
