Type locality "Gilmore, Wyoming [...]; Bear River near the mouth of Sulphur Creek, Utah [...]; and at various locality in the Bear River country", Wyoming, United States; Bear River Formation, Albian, early Cretaceous. The record of "Gilmore, Wyoming" among the type localities is probably a mistake. The species was not mentioned again from that locality later. Yen (1954) stated the species is only from the Bear River Formation and that the available type material at USNM contains only material from Sulphur Creek and Bear River valley. Moreover, Meek (1971, Hayden Surv., 4th Ann. Rept, p. 299) listed the locality "Parley's Park, Utah" instead of Gilmore. [details]
