Note Hertlein (1969, in Moore, ed., Treatise on...
Type species Hertlein (1969, in Moore, ed., Treatise on Invertebrate Paleontology, N6: 377) stated the type species to be Ostrea intusstriata Emmrich, 1853. However, Bittner (1895) did not explicitly indicate a type species or limit the new genus to a single species. He basically introduced Dimyopsis conditionally for all taxa similar to Plicatula intusstriata. [details]
