Nomenclature Established as a substitute name for "Anomala Cossmann, 1886, non Schmidt, 1832". However, Cossmann used "Anomala Deshayes, 1860", which can be interpreted as the usage by Deshayes, 1860 of Anomala Deshayes, 1855; in this case, Plesiastarte is not a nom. nov. and it does not take the same type species as Anomala Deshayes, 1855. The latter view has been followed by Moore [ed.], 1969, Treatise on invertebrate paleontology, N2: 668, 681. [details]
