Editor's comment Some authors have subsequently changed the spelling of this name to "euroxestus" as if the name was an adjective. However, Iredale's original spelling "euroxesta" indicates the treatment as a noun in apposition as he was well aware of the correct treatment of adjectives judging from his treatment of other species names in this genus. Hence, the emended subsequent spelling is an unjustified emendation of the original name and invalid. [details]
