An unnecessary replacement name for Bulimus pan L. Pfeiffer, 1861 which is not a junior homonym of Helix pan Broderip, 1841. They are homonyms only in the genus Cochlostyla. However, Cochlostyla nigrocincta C. Semper, 1877 = B. pan L. Pfeiffer, 1861 has been transferred to Dolichostyla, as a synonym of D. partuloides (Broderip, 1841). Helix pan Broderip 1841 has been assigned to Calocochlea. Both Helix pan Broderip, 1841 and Bulimus pan Pfeiffer, 1861 are available.
