Status Sandberger (1863) listed Cyrena ambigua without discussion in the synonymy of his Tellina faba Sandberger, 1861. That name is a junior objective synonym of Cyrena ambigua (as well as a junior homonym of Tellina faba Spengler, 1798). Cyrena ambigua can, however, not be used either as accepted name, because the combination with Tellina would make it a junior secondary homonym of Tellina ambigua J. de C. Sowerby, 1823. Taxon needs revision. [details]
