Type locality Cockerell (1914) stated the locality as "The label simply states 'Torrejon; exp. 1912.' The locality is in Northern New Mexico". Accoding to Hartman (1981), the collecting site is delimited by exposures of the Nacimiento Formation from Escavada Wash to Torreon Wash. [details]

Status Classification as Helix uncritically adopted by Henderson (1935) and Hartman (1981). According to Hartman, the holotype is a distorted specimen, which may not allow classification on genus or even family level. Wenz (1923) already treated the species as "Stylommatophora incertae sedis". [details]
