Additional information Helix valenciennesii Pfeiffer, 1850 appears to be a misspelling of H. valencienneii Eydoux, 1836. But, Pfeiffer's taxon is considered a synonym of Chloraea eydouxi (Hidalgo), while Eydoux's is a vailid species in Helicostlya. See Pilsbry (1892: 123). [details]
